Research summary

In 2014 I was awarded a four-year Methodology Research Fellowship by the Medical Research Council. My objective is to develop methods for bias-adjusted inference, to support cutting-edge medical science in the areas (and intersections of):

Causal inference (Mendelian randomization);

Adaptive clinical trials;

Evidence synthesis.

I completed my PhD at the University of Leicester in 2007, with the title

“On the use of data-augmentation to model biomedical data in the presence of selection bias”.

My first degree was in Mathematics, I then completed an MSc in Medical Statistics at Lancaster University following a year working in the pharmaceutical industry. My entire post-doctoral career has been spent at dedicated MRC research Units in Cambridge, London and, now, Bristol.
