Summary

Dr Jenny Hatchard is Research Fellow in Public Health at the University of Bristol. She works on the TRUUD project, a UKPRP-funded transdiisciplinary consortium taking a systems approach to exploring upstream determinants of urban health.  

Jenny is a political scientist by background and has worked on both environmental and public health interdisciplinary projects in the past; she has particular interests in policy influence, participatory governance and commercial determinants of health. The expression of power by private interests in the public sphere is an overarching theme in her research. Jenny also has a sustained interest in qualitative research methods and was co-founder of the Annual South West Qualitative Research Symposium. 

Biography

Dr Jenny Hatchard has over 15 years applied experience of interdisciplinary research spanning public health and environmental policy. Prior to this role, Jenny has worked within universities and as a research consultant for private and public sector clients. Jenny has a doctorate from the University of Newcastle on European fisheries governance as well as a BA(Hons) Politics and Modern History and MA(Econ) in Political Development from the University of Manchester.
