My research interests are in urgent and unscheduled care; in particular exploring patient and clinical decision-making processes that occur ‘out of hospital’, and in exploring the interfaces between primary- secondary- and ambulance-care. I have interests in the use of clinical technologies to aid decision-making in the urgent care settings, and in the evaluation of interventions to reduce avoidable admissions and manage demand for urgent care service. I am also interested in developing, testing and evaluating novel models of urgent care service delivery, including novel workforce models.
