Dr Niamh Redmond

Biography

Niamh joined NIHR CLAHRC West in April 2016 and is involved in several research studies and research project management activities. Niamh retains strong links with researchers at the Centre for Academic Primary Care where she worked for 10 years prior to joining NIHR CLAHRC West. 

Niamh has had a lot of experience in clinical cohort studies and randomised controlled trials (RCTs). These include childhood fever, prevention of fracture in older women, children's cough and RTI consultations and emollients for ezcema. Niamh is an experienced researcher and clinical trials manager; her own research interests lie in trial methodology, specifically improving recruitment strategies in RCTs and studies.

Prior to this, she worked at the University of Liverpool for 3 years, first as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the MRI Analysis Centre, on a long-term back pain follow up study, and then as a Lecturer in Health Sciences. She was also a Medical Representative for a large Pharmaceutical company.
