Active for Life Year 5 is a school-based research study which is taking place in primary schools in Bristol during 2011-2013.
The aims of the project are to test whether lessons that teach children about the importance and enjoyment of being active and having a healthy diet are an effective way:
The research study is led by Professor Debbie Lawlor, and a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Bristol, who are working in collaboration with Bristol City Council and NHS Bristol.
This project is funded by the National Institute for Health Research Public Health Research programme (project number 09/3005/04).
The views and opinions expressed therein are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the NIHR PHR programme or the Department of Health.
Over 2,000 children across 60 schools in Bristol and North Somerset are taking part in this exciting project.
