GIC/GRC Research Seminar: Ali BilgiƧ on the politics of migration

The Global Insecurities Centre and the Gender Research Centre are hosting a Research Seminar with Ali Bilgiç.

Ali Bilgiç was Assistant Professor of International Relations at Bilkent University, Ankara, until January 2017, when he took up at lectureship at Loughborough University. He holds a PhD from Aberystwyth University, and is also the editor responsible for Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa for the Journal of Contemporary European Research, and a member of the communication team for International Political Sociology, one of the journals of the International Studies Association.

He is the author of Rethinking Security in the Age of Migration: Trust and Emancipation in Europe (2013), and his articles have appeared in Review of International Studies, Eurasian Geography and Economics, and Journal of Southeast European and Black Sea Studies.

The event will run from 13:00 to 15:00 but there will be a break at 14:00 for those who have to leave early.
