SPAIS students, Luke Burns and Kazuaki Tsujii, presented their undergraduate dissertation research at the KIAS inaugural International Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Conference, at the University of Alberta, Canada, in August 2011.

' conference, which was convened at the University of Alberta, Canada. Their participation was supported and jointly funded by the
University of Bristol Institute for Advanced Studies
. Founding Director of KIAS, Professor Jerry Varsava, who chaired the panel in which Luke and Kazuaki presented their research, reported, "They both did a very good job, serving as wonderful ambassadors for your institution."

'Tomorrow’s ideas, Now' will be an annual event. The Call-for-Papers for the 2012 conference will be issued in January 2012.
Luke Burns, who has begun postgraduate studies at Mills College, San Francisco said, "I'd really like to encourage more people from Bristol to apply for the next conference and would be happy for anyone to email me if they have questions."
