Get into sportSports Development is about providing and improving opportunities for people to take part in sport1 at any level

Whether you're an elite performer, an absolute beginner, a coach, an enthusiast or just looking for a fun activity, there are plenty of opportunities to participate.

Sport, Exercise and Health are dedicated to improving the access to, and provision of, sport for all, aiming to improve sporting participation by students, staff and the wider community.

A range of programmes provide support for those wishing to coach or officiate sport, as well as support for the running of student sports clubs.  The Joint Universities Initiative in Coach Education provides opportunities to train and certain sports are able to benefit through the University's coach development programme

Opportunities for beginners and improvers in a variety of sports are offered in conjunction with Athletic Union sports clubs. There are also a range of recreational and social sporting activities.

Play competitive but fun sport in Intramural leagues and competitions, enter a University Sports Event or represent the University through the Athletic Union.

The High Performance programme provides a range of services to support talented students with their training and competition without compromising their academic commitments.

The Community Sports Volunteer Scheme allows students and staff to achieve a nationally recognised qualification, and gain experience volunteering within community organisations offering sporting opportunities.
