Club development

Behind every club there is a bag of ballsWhether its improving competitive performance and rising up the BUSA tables, or offering fun participation in sport, the University's clubs are at the heart of things. With 55 different sports clubs affiliated to the University's Athletic Union there is a lot of sporting activity going on!

Sport, Exercise and Health (SEH) and UBU-Sport & Health provide a range of support to the University's Athletic Union clubs, in particular the 25 identified focus clubs with professional coaching and priority facility access.

SEH and UBU-Sport & Health have developed a club development planning framework over the past few years to further support the activities of the University's clubs. As of 2010 this now provides a framework for clubs to plan their programmes of activity, their recruitment and retention and help identify funding requirements, support and opportunities for new developments in their sport.  All AU clubs are now required to follow the development planning process as a requirement of their funding and support.
