The University of Bristol is proud to be one of 11 higher education institutions involved in the RELAYS programme (Regional Educational Legacy for Arts and Youth Sport). RELAYS is the South West’s Olympic Legacy programme which has been funded by the Legacy Trust UK and HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England).
The project took huge strides in creating a lasting legacy throughout the region by creating opportunities within communities to combine sport, business and culture. To date, 192,405 young people around the region have been engaged.

The University of Bristol is proud to be part of the 'engagement through sport' strand which seeks to recruit and utilise HE volunteers to play a key role in delivering community festivals, events and projects for young people. In doing so the University has formed a good working relationship with other partners throughout Bristol.
Since 2009, RELAYS has allowed the University of Bristol to create the Bristol Festival of School Sport
