Active Travel
An easy way to increase levels of physical activity and achieve the recommended 150 minutes a week is to include walking and cycling in your daily routine, such as your journey to work or lectures.
Achieving this level of activity will reduce your risk of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancers and osteoporosis.
Active commuting is also a non pollutant mode of transport so it’s both good for you and the environment!
- For information on the Tax Benefit Cycling Scheme, discounts at local bike stores, bike recycling and Well Wednesday Walks visit the Walking and Cycling sections of the University's transport plan.
- Members of staff are welcome to join the weekly 'Walking Lunch' group which meets on Wednesdays. Further details
- For cyclists, TUB-BUG - The University of Bristol’s Bike Users Group - supports staff and students travelling by bike in and around the University.
