We recommend all students apply for a sports pass in advance, before you arrive at the University.
The sports pass goes up every academic year, by purchasing your sports pass for the duration of your course will enable you to make considerable savings.
Unlike many Universities, where students have to pay every time they swim, play squash or book a sports hall for 5 a-side football or badminton, we want to encourage our students to be as active as possible as often as possible and as affordably as possible.
Our Sport and Activity Pass gives you many benefits:
And the Sport and Activity pass is valid until 30th September unless in your final year when it is 31st July.
The more students who purchase a Sport and Activity Pass, the more we can provide!
N.B. Passes are strictly non-transferable; misuse of cards may result in your membership being cancelled with no refund.
Replacement cards are issued at the Arts and Social Science library, Tyndall Avenue. An administration fee of £10 will be charged.
It is now mandatory to purchase a Sport & Activity Pass if you intend to play for a University Sports Club which uses University facilities for training and matches. In return the University books pre-allocated times for your sports clubs.
As part of the continuing partnership arrangements with the Student Union you will also be required to pay a mandatory fee (£20.00) to become a member of Athletic Union if you want to play for a University Sports Club (54 clubs to choose from). AU membership fees helps cover the cost of insurance, travel and some club development activity.
If a student does not have a Student Card he/she will have to pay £5 for each visit to the sports facilities.
