There are two Sport and Activity pass membership categories, staff membership with classes (excludes Pilates) £432.00 (£36.00 monthly deductions) and staff membership without classes £288.00 (£24.00 monthly deductions).Staff who purchase a Sport and Activity pass without classes cannot pay for individual classes except during vacation.
Both membership categories include free access to all centrally managed sporting facilities (sports hall, 'The PULSE' Health and Fitness Suite, studios, jogging track, squash courts and the recently refurbished swimming pool). There is a small charge for tennis at Coombe Dingle and discounted Sports Medicine Clinic services.
All staff members need an induction to use the Pulse Fitness Suite and the Free Weights room. There is one off payment of £5.00 for a gym induction and in addition to the gym induction there is a one off payment to use the Free Weights room. These are provided by professional staff and are compulsory.
Only members electing to upgrade to a Staff Membership with classes will be able to attend Exercise Classes (excluding Pilates). Non-members will no longer be able to attend Exercise Classes on a pay as you go basis (except for Pilates).
Staff can opt to pay as you go to use the swimming pool and sports hall during off-peak times only (Monday - Friday 7.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m.) Saturdays (8.00 am - 8.00 pm) and Sundays (8.00 a.m. - 10.00 p.m.) and during vacations.
Note: This does not apply to the gyms and studio classes.
One guest can play with a staff member (during off peak times only - Monday - Friday 7.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. (excludes Wednesday afternoons reserved for BUCS sport - term time only) with full access on Saturdays 8.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m. and Sundays 8.00 a.m. - 10.00 p.m. Term time only. Vacations are deemed as off peak. Applies to the Squash Courts and the Sports Hall only. Guests are not permitted to use the gyms.
Note: All members and guests using the sports hall must wear light coloured soled training shoes (not 'black soles).
An admission fee of £5.00 will be charged for guests.
Children under 16 are not permitted in the gym. Children under 16 must be accompanied in the Sports Hall by a parent or guardian at all times. This person will be held responsible for the child throughout their stay in the building.

Conditions of Payment are by deductions from your salary of a monthly payment calculated from the date of application to September 30th each year. This can be done in one payment of £288.00 (without classes) or £432.00 (with classes). Both membership categories can be paid by twelve monthly instalments of £24.00 (without classes) and £36.00 with classes (excludes Pilates).

There is a strict no refund policy on all memberships. Refunds are only considered if you leave the University, or if you have a serious illness that prevents you from using the facilities (medical note must be provided) please refer to terms and conditions for further information.
Memberships are valid for the twelve-month academic year, for these purposes Oct 1st to Sept 30th each year. Therefore the cancellation letter needs to arrive before the renewal date of Sept 30th and addressed to Jo Blackett, Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health, Tyndall Avenue, Bristol.
