GB Hockey Qualify for Rio!

The primary objective for GB Hockey in the World League tournament in Valencia, was to secure a place in the top three. They smashed every game and won the tournament hands down!

‌The top three teams in the World League 3 Hockey tournament in Valencia, would automatically qualify for the Rio Olympics next year, so to make sure GB women's hockey was represented, the primary objective for the GB squad was to win the tournament... Therefore, winning seven out of seven matches and beating some top class opposition including Argentina, Germany and China meant that not only did they secure a place in Rio, they also won the tournament!

Former Performance Sport squad member Joie Leigh said "We have a GB squad of 31 that train on a full time centralised basis and the success at this tournament is testament to the hard work of the whole squad and management team on a daily basis. It's definitely an exciting time for the squad and securing Olympic qualification is a great feeling".
