Nuala Campbell 

Pilates Foundation)  Nuala has a professional background in movement and dance and trained at Elmhurst and Bush Davies Ballet Schools. She worked in commercial theatre before starting a career in teaching dance.

Nuala is a qualified Pilates Foundation Mat and Equipment teacher and runs regular sessions at the University. Whilst having a particular interest in working with dancers, she enjoys the diversity of teaching people with a range of ages, needs and abilities.She teaches mat classes at the University from Level 1 to 4 and is one of a few instructors in Bristol qualified to teach Pilates using equipment.  She offers this on a 1:1 basis and as open studios (groups of 3 max).

Gaynor Coward

(Pilates Foundation) Gaynor teaches mat and equipment based Pilates at the University and has a particular interest working with dancers and athletes.

After training at the Laban Centre (BA Hons Dance), Gaynor co-founded the contemporary dance company, The Cholmondeleys. She performed in all live and film works 1984 - 1997, touring nationally and internationally and teaching extensively for the company. Gaynor was also co-director, choreographer and performer with the Merseyside based dance company Fishpool. Chrissie Fenton

Chrissie teaches both mat and equipment based Pilates at the University.  Years of experience as a  school teacher combined with a strong background in dance and movement made Pilates a natural choice for her.  Our clients are immediately at ease with her bright, breezy delivery and value her meticulous attention to detail.  She has an insatiable interest in complementary health issues and a regime of ongoing training encouraged by her professional body. You can read more about Chrissie's work on her website.

Joanna Batten

Joanna teaches mat and studio classes at the University. After studying Dance at Middlesex University she went onto to do the Pilates matwork teacher training course at The Place (2001) and most recently has completed the Pilates equipment training at Pilates off the Square, central London. In addition, she has done a yoga teacher training (2003-05) at Morley College. Hermione Frankel

Hermione Frankel trained in classical dance, and performed as a member of the Welsh National Opera, and in numerous films and television programmes as a dancer. Raising children, she taught ballet and exhibited as a painter. She later trained as a Pilates Foundation Mat Class instructor. Hermione describes her Pilates work in the following statement:  'I like movement, and the simplicity of matwork; a skill a person can learn and take anywhere. Pilates, with it's fine-tuning into skeletal alignment, can liberate the body to perform better in any area. It is for everyone!'
