Jerry Morris Memorial Lecture 8th February 2018

Gender-sensitised weight management programmes for men: are they needed and do they work?

Kate Hunt is Professor of Gender and Health at the University of Glasgow and Associate Director of the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit. Professor Hunt has led the SPHSU’s research programme on Understanding and Improving Health within Settings and Organisations from 2014-2018 (with a particular interest in professional sports and prison settings).

Until 2014, Kate led SPHSU’s Gender and Health programme, reflecting a longstanding interest in how social constructions of gender impact on men’s and women’s risk and experiences of ill health, and on health behaviours and help-seeking behaviours. In February 2018, Kate is moving to University of Stirling to take up a new position as Chair in Behavioural Sciences and Health.
