Mrs Leona McCalla


Leona qualified as a Social Worker in 2002 and has experience working with adults who experience mental distress, older adults and people with acquired head injuries. Leona qualified as an Approved Social Worker in 2005 and she continues to practice as an Approved Mental Health Professional and as a Best Interests Assessor; a role which requires her to support people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions about their care and treatment. Leona provides consultancy services to Local Authorities in the South West of England advising on best interest decision making processes and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. She has also more recently worked with local voluntary organisations advising on the design and delivery of day services for people with dementia.
