Research summary

He began his doctoral research in 2018, which looks at aspects of criminal procedure in the pluralist legal system in The Gambia. He focuses on specific guarantees within the international and regional protection of the right to fair trial, and how 'fairness' is understood with respect to these by international and domestic law, and by legal practitioners. His broader research interests include criminal justice, LGBTQI rights, and critical legal and social theory.

Biography

Christopher is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant at the University of Bristol Law School. He is funded by the ESRC with a 1+3 scholarship from the SWDTP. Alongside his research he has worked with the Human Rights Implementation Centre at the University of Bristol, and writes case commentaries for the European Human Rights Law Review. He is on the teaching team for the Law of Torts.
