Research themes

The Centre for Gender and Violence Research conducts empirical studies and evaluations of policy and practice on gender violence, both nationally and locally. We also conduct international research including collaborative and cross-national studies. A major theme of our research is identifying and promoting best practice in violence against women initiatives, but we also work on developing professional discourses and new theorisations.

Overall, the themes of our research include:

  • victims/survivors
  • perpetrators
  • children
  • agency approaches
  • international comparative research.
