Places to Eat
Within the Hawthorns there are three dining areas: the Staff Dining Room, The Bar, and the Refectory. All of these are open to Staff. If you prefer to bring your own food, the Staff Club lounge or Games room is the place to go. There is a tea and coffee machine, and plenty of chairs and tables.
Food for Staff Club Events
Where a Staff Club Room has been booked for private use by a member, or members of University staff, it is permitted for that member(s) to bring in food they have purchased or produced themselves, provided that no charge is being made to those attending.
If catering is being supplied to guests of the University and the event is part of the business of the University then that food would be deemed to have been 'sold ' event if no charge was made, and would fall within the scope of the Food Safety Act. Under these circumstances the catering will be provided by the University's Central Catering Service.
