Yoga Group
Description
These classes are taught by qualified Iyengar yoga teachers and are designed to help you develop strength, stamina, steadiness and flexibility. Regular practice of yoga can help you maintain physical health and mental well-being, promoting more balance and harmony in your life!
Yoga Group meets at various times throughout the week in the Drama Department, Cantocks Close - See number 7 on the precinct map (1.5Mb).
Programme of events
Classes run in consecutive six week blocks. All these classes are suitable for complete beginners, or those who have some experience.
How to join
Before attending classes, you will need to fill out a short health questionnaire (word, 250KB, or as pdf). Please complete and email it to staff-club-yoga before classes begin, and someone will contact you.

Monday class with Jenny Jones
We will cover a range of yoga postures (asanas), with some work towards inversions (head and shoulder stands). There will be a chance to do some recuperative postures and relaxation with attention to breathing.
Wednesday and Thursday class with Jess Wallwork
The emphasis will be on learning the basic asanas, starting with the standing poses, and there will be encouragement to develop a personal (home) practice.
Health
If you have any questions about your suitability for the classes or health issues you need to discuss - in particular if you have recently had surgery, a severe illness or other medical condition or injury (especially spine or neck related) - it is essential that you email the relevant class teacher before the classes begin: Jenny or Jess.

Payment
Payment can now be made at the online shop.
Please note that fees are non-refundable unless we can re-allocate your place. The only exception to this is where a medical condition prevents you from continuing. If this is the case, you will need to speak to the tutor prior to cancelling.
Membership
Eligibility to join: Open to everyone who is eligible to use the Staff Club facilities.
