Beating the blues

Beating the Blues is a computer programme designed to help individuals suffering from mild to moderate anxiety and or depression. It uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in order to help people challenge their existing ways of thinking and behaving and to teach techniques to help people think and behave in more positive and productive ways.

The evidence is that those who complete all 8 one hour sessions of the programme are likely to find significant benefit. Most people work through a session per week and there are working tasks to complete between sessions to help you to make changes.

We run weekly drop-ins to support individuals on the programme and you will also be assigned a clinical helper who you can email while on the programme.

How do I sign up?

You need to register with the Student Counselling Service and attend a Drop-in to get going on the programme.

Once you have signed up you can access the programme from any computer or you can come in and use one of the computers in the counselling service Resource Library.
