The Fulbright-University of Bristol Award
The Fulbright-University of Bristol Award is offered to a US citizen for the first year of a postgraduate degree in any field at the University of Bristol. The successful candidate will be selected by the Fulbright Commission to receive a grant to be used towards tuition fees and living costs.
Eligibility
- US citizen (resident anywhere other than the UK)
- graduating senior
- hold a BS/BA degree
- masters or doctoral degree candidate

Awards will not be granted:
- for undergraduate study
- to those already resident in the UK
- to those who hold a PhD
- to complete any part of a medical degree, including internships or residencies (medical students may receive an award for advanced academic study.
Value
In 2013, the award will provide a £12,000 (pounds sterling) contribution towards living costs and the University will meet the costs of your tuition fees.
Application
Applications are made online via the Fulbright website.
The online application form must be submitted electronically and in hard copy. In addition, applicants will need to supply a two page Statement of Grant Purpose, a one page Personal Statement, an Affiliation Letter from the University of Bristol, three letters of reference and transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions from which you received degrees or other institutions where you studied and received credit for coursework.
The competition for entry in 2013 is now open, the closing date is 17 October 2012.
