The UNITE Accommodation and Access Bursary comprises provision of free en suite accommodation in Unite House and a cash bursary of £3,000 per year for 5 fully enrolled undergraduate students in 2012/13. (The maximum number of years of benefit for any Beneficiary will be three full academic years over a maximum period of four years.)
It is the intention of these bursaries to support access to higher education for students who have previously been in Local Authority care, or residing in a Foyer or similar residential provision for young homeless adults. Successful applicants will be notified of their busary soon after the A-Level results have been announced.
The bursary will be paid in three instalments over the course of the academic year, at the start of each term. If the University has your bank account details, then you will receive a BACS payment directly into your nominated account.
As part of the application process, students agree to provide a short profile (100 - 150 words), to be used in marketing or publicity purposes by UNITE or the University. When writing your profile you might like to include your name (or alias), age, the course you are studying, your interests and future ambitions, and your expectations about how the UNITE bursary and accommodation will benefit you during your studies. The profile may be used in marketing and publicity materials by the University and the UNITE Foundation, so please only include information you are happy to provide for this purpose.
