Bursaries and Scholarships

Introduction

There are a small number of special bursaries and scholarships available to home undergraduate students. The main bursaries and scholarships available are listed below and further information about each scheme can be found by following the relevant link.

Alumni Academic Achievement Awards Awarded to the top first-year student(s) as identified by each Faculty, payable at the start of the second year
Betty Tippett Mattock Bursary Veterinary Science
Christopher Frederick Edwards Bursary Entrance bursary for new students applying to the School of Dentistry, funding for first year only
Computer Science Department Scholarships The Department of Computer Science is offering a number of undergraduate scholarships to students to help support their studies
Eliahou Dangoor Scholarship Scheme One year scholarships, valued at £1,000 and awarded to UK undergraduate students. Approximately 30 scholarships will be awarded each year between 2010 and 2012 (inclusive)
Ellen Marron Bursary Entrance bursary for new students applying to the School of Medicine, funding annually renewable for the duration of the degree programme, subject to satisfactory performance
Faraday Scholarships The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will be offering a £1,000 Faraday Scholarship to home students who achieve 3 A's or more at A Level (or equivalent)
IMechE Scholarships and Awards The Institution of Mechanical Engineers offers various scholarships and awards to help support undergraduate study
Knowlson Awards Available for travel which is not part of the applicant's academic studies
Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Undergraduate Bursaries Available for undergraduate students studying a first degree course who are children or spouses of commercial travellers, chemists or grocers
