University of Bristol Santander Abbey Masters Scholarships

Introduction

The University of Bristol is pleased to announce the University of Bristol Santander Abbey Masters Scholarships. The scholarships aim to increase academic mobility between Central and South America and the UK.

These scholarships are aimed at candidates from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela and Peru who demonstrate the highest level of academic achievement. There are five awards available each year for £5,000 each, offset against tuition fees.

How to apply

Applicants wishing to be considered for a Santander Abbey Masters Scholarship should complete Section 6, entitled 'Funding', of the Postgraduate Application form by stating 'University of Bristol Santander Abbey Masters Scholarship' as a source of funding. Further guidance on admissions procedures, as well as forms for completion, can be found on the University's Postgraduate Prospectus website at http://www.bris.ac.uk/prospectus/postgraduate/2010/intro/apply.html. The deadline for submission of Postgraduate Application forms to departments/schools for students wishing to be considered for the scholarship is 1st May.

Selection

Departments/Schools will nominate qualifying candidates for consideration at a selection meeting of the University Graduate Studies Committee Chair and two Graduate Education Directors. Selection will be on the basis of the two references provided on behalf of the candidate and a letter of support from the Department/School to which the candidate has applied. Candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application during the week commencing 1st June (please note this date is a Tuesday; Monday 31st May is a bank holiday).
