Meningitis ACWY vaccination

You should ideally get your Meningitis ACWY vaccination at least 2 weeks before starting at university so you are immune before coming to Bristol.

However, if you have been unable to obtain vaccination and are eligible please call the Students’ Health Service to book an appointment for immunisation.

Check your vaccine eligibility (2017/18)

Before calling to book an appointment please check:

  1. You have had 2 doses of Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine in your life (normally given as a young child). If you have not, we are also able to give this at the drop in clinic.
  2. You were age 18 on 31 August 2017 (born between 1/9/1998 and 31/8/1999) who left school in summer 2017
    or
  3. A fresher who started university in autumn 2017 or a student who started in the last 2 years (ie from autumn 2015)
    and
  4. Are under the age of 25 at time of vaccination
    and
  5. Have not had a MenACWY conjugate vaccination since the age of 10
