Mature and part-time students
Starting at University is an exciting time with lots of changes to get used to. As a mature or part-time student studying at foundation or Undergraduate level there is some additional information you may find helpful.
Make sure you read the rest of our information for new students too.
You can get support from the Mature Students' and Peer Support Adviser and the Mature Student Advocates. We are here to help you settle in and make the best possible start in your studies.
You will have support throughout your course from someone in your department, such as a personal tutor who is there to help you.
You can also request a current mature student as your peer mentor.
Mature student mingles
Mingles are an opportunity to meet with other mature students, Mature Student Advocates and the Mature Student Adviser. These are currently taking place on line due to the current situation. It's still a great opportunity to meet other students, across all years, and to take a breather. Ask questions, chat and share experiences in an informal setting. Open to all students in all years.
Mature Student Blackboard Group
The newly set up Mature Students at University of Bristol blackboard group includes useful information on starting at University which included the Return to Learning online Resources. As a new 1st year Undergraduate you should now have access to this via Blackboard. For returning UG students you'll be added to this shortly.
Individual appointments for current students
The Mature Students’ Adviser offers one to one support appointments throughout the year. These are currently happening either via telephone or online video conferencing (Skype for Buisness, Microsoft Teams etc). Please contact Maria directly, email mature-students-adviser@bristol.ac.uk to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

Mature Student Advocates
Mature Student Advocates are current students who are available to act as peer mentors to first-year students. They can help to improve the mature and part-time student experience at University.
SU Mature Students, Parents and Carers Network
