Exercise for wellbeing

One of our 10 ways to wellbeing is being active. Exercise keeps your mind fit and healthy as well as your body. It can reduce feelings of anxiety, stress and depression and it can improve your mood and your confidence. If you take a break from your day to exercise, you can boost your productivity and your energy.

Amelia's story

Amelia faced some big challenges with her course at the start of her university career. As a result she was struggling to see why she was here at all. She started to attend free and low-cost exercise classes, which offered a break from the stress. The classes gave her the opportunity to focus on something else. Doing something she enjoyed - which challenged her physically - made everything more manageable
Amelia is now a B:Active Activator. She encourages others to take advantage of opportunities to keep active at Bristol.
