During your studies and in your subsequent career, you will need to develop expertise in finding, evaluating and using information effectively and ethically. That expertise is often called ‘information literacy’.
Your department should arrange an introductory group session with your dedicated Subject Librarian to look at the skills required to be effectively information literate, but if you miss this or would like additional one-to-one help, you can contact your Subject Librarian directly at any time to arrange a meeting. All of the Subject Librarians and their contact details are listed by subject on the Library website, at: http://www.bris.ac.uk/library/support/subjects/.
Develop your expertise in finding and using information effectively with our video tutorials on understanding references on your reading list, the Library Catalogue, our MetaLib resource and accessing electronic library resources away from the campus.
Develop your expertise in finding, evaluating and using information effectively and ethically with our finding and using information web pages.
