At a critical time in history, our LLM in International Law and International Relations provides you with an opportunity to engage in an exciting area of law that is complex and constantly evolving. There is a growing demand for expert lawyers that can embrace the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly interdependent and turbulent world.
Our LLM programmes are well-respected by leading law firms, international businesses, international and non-governmental organisations. This is a specialist programme that will enable you to combine units provided by both the Law School and the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies to create an exceptional programme of study.

Programme structure
We have a large and vibrant international community and University of Bristol LLM students benefit from small class sizes. Our exciting range of optional units reflect the expertise of our globally renowned academics and an opportunity to further specialise your degree.
You will choose two 30-credit Law School units from a list of options, along with three 20-credit units from the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (120 credit points in total). You will also complete a 10,000- to 15,000-word, 60-credit dissertation. In consultation with the programme director and based on your proposed area of specialisation, you have the choice to take the dissertation in either school, with a supervisory decision being made in December.

Entry requirements
An upper second-class honours degree in law. Applicants who do not have a law degree but have obtained a 2:1 in at least three modules or units related to law/international relations can be considered. Previous or professional experience is not required.
For applicants who are currently completing a degree, we understand that their final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades they achieve during their studies.
We will consider applicants whose interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements. We may make these applicants an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so the applicant would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of their degree. Specific module requirements may still apply.
We will consider applicants whose grades are slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements, if they have a relevant postgraduate qualification.If this is the case, applicants should include their CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when they apply, showing details of their relevant qualifications.

Fees are subject to an annual review. For programmes that last longer than one year, please budget for up to an 8% increase in fees each year.
