Pre-16 activities

The University works with large numbers of students under the age of 16 to raise their aspirations towards and awareness of higher education.

There are a wide range of activities which facilitate students discovering what University is really like, these include taster lectures, visits to the University, student mentors working in schools and much more. We work with students from primary school age to Year 11 in innovative and exciting ways.

Subject and introduction to university talks

Our teaching staff are passionate about sharing their knowledge and are available to come to local schools and talk to pupils on a range of topics.

Talks are free, complement the national curriculum and give an insight into university study. They are pitched at an accessible level and are extremely popular with both teachers and pupils.
