About BA Film and Italian

This course combines film with the study of Italian. You will study histories and theories of film, as well as learning practical skills in film-making. You will also take units in Italian. Bristol has an enviable record for its research both in film studies and in Italian culture.

Italian language and culture have had a lasting impact on Europe. Today, Italy's innovative contributions to design, technology and fashion mean that it is a major global commercial force. Italy is both traditional and modern, a tension that is apparent throughout its history and culture. As the United Kingdom forges a new relationship with its European partners and seeks to develop its trading and cultural ties throughout the world, expertise in modern languages is more important than ever.

You will spend your third year abroad, refining your language skills and cultural knowledge. In your final year, you will return to Bristol and have the chance to undertake an independent project or a work placement in the creative industries.
