International Foundation Programme

Our International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a one-year academic course specifically designed to prepare students for undergraduate study in the UK. You are guaranteed entry to the University of Bristol when you pass the IFP at the required level.

How is this course taught and assessed?

As a student studying on the International Foundation Programme, you will attend lectures, tutorials and classes. Students studying on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics pathway will also have practical and laboratory sessions. In addition to supervised teaching sessions, you will be expected to engage in independent study.

Our programmes are assessed in a number of ways, including through coursework and final exams in subject units and English units. Students on the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics pathway will also have practical assessments.

Successfully completing the programme at the required level guarantees you a place at the University of Bristol for an agreed degree relevant to your previous studies. Our programme is also recognised by other UK universities.
