Getting to Bristol

You can find lots of information on travelling to Bristol on our maps and travel information page.

We recommend you travel by public transport as parking near the University is extremely limited. If you need to drive, you can find details of park and ride services and car parking at How to get here.

Getting to the University

There is free bus travel between Temple Meads and the main Clifton campus. Buses will be provided to and from Bristol Veterinary School at Langford to the Clifton campus. Our stewards in red t-shirts are on hand all day at bus stops to guide you. Full details will be available on this page shortly.

Young people aged 16 - 21 and full-time students get a 30 per cent discount on all First buses in the area.

Alternatively, you can walk to the University from the bus or train station, which will involve an uphill climb.

Please see your visit day programme for a map of the campus and city, including walking routes.

Travel bursary

We offer a means-tested travel bursary to help with the cost of getting to visit days. You may be able to claim if your household income is £42,620 or below.

Parents and guests

You are welcome to bring guests to most talks and tours, but some academic sessions are for applicants only. Your department may run an information session for parents and guests in the afternoon. Please check your academic programme for details.

The PG Common Room in the Wills Memorial Building (map ref: 26) will be open from 1:30 pm to 5 pm. Parents and guests are welcome to drop in during the afternoon for tea and coffee.
