Support Process Review

The Support Process Review (SPR) programme was designed to streamline the support services at the University of Bristol. The programme was made up of a number of projects covering eight different process areas, each looking at the cost and efficiency of different services. All process areas were set the target of improving their service by reviewing what they do, the processes used to deliver them, their cost base and staffing levels.

Further information is available about the programme and about the structure and operation of Support Services.

What stage have we got to?

The new structures for all support processes are now in place. We are still in a period of transition as staff get to grips with new roles and ways of working, supported by a range of training and development activities. As the process areas have moved from ‘project mode’ to ‘operational’ mode, the SPR programme itself is drawing to a close. However, process owners remain committed to ensuring effective communications in their area, receiving and responding to feedback, and looking for opportunities to make structures more effective. At programme level, we will continue to monitor the impact and benefits of SPR.
