Collections donations

We are always happy to consider donations of theatrical material that are relevant to our acquisition policy, including live art, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

When you donate items, you can be sure that your gift will be cared for to museum standards and, once catalogued, made available to all users.

The quality of the materials held at the Theatre Collection is a reflection of the generosity of our past donors. Donations range from individual items to complete personal collections and company archives.

Highlights of our most recent acquisitions are published in our annual newsletter.

Notes on donations

Theatre programmes

To avoid excessive duplication of material, we are currently not accepting theatre programmes until we have rationalised our current holdings of over 150,000 programmes.

At the current time, while we sort and catalogue the Mander & Mitchenson Collection library, we are not accepting routine donations of books unless they are of particular importance or relevance to our archival collections.

Please contact us if you have relevant journals which you wish to donate. Although we have complete runs of some, such as Theatre World, where we have gaps in others we are keen to fill them, particularly for older titles.
