The Hull Time Based Arts Archive|
Hull Time Based Arts (HTBA) was Northern England's combined arts development agency and one of
Europe's leading commissioners of performance and new technology art.
It emerged in 1984 from
the underground activity of artists, filmmakers, theorists and musicians interested in presenting and
promoting their work and the work of others. Through festivals such as the International ROOT (Running Out Of Time) Festival,
bursaries, commissions, residencies, screenings and exhibitions, HTBA pioneered and championed the work of artists work
in time based media, including film and video, live performance, installation, sound and music, multi- and interdisciplinary work,
and digital, online and new media arts.
The HTBA archive is now held in the Live Art Archives of the University of Bristol Theatre Collection and is
currently in the process of being sorted and re-boxed.
Please contact Bex Carrington, Keeper: Live Art Archives on 0117 33 15186,

Material from the HTBA Archive has recently been loaned to the Whitechapel Gallery for inclusion in their
Contemporary Art Society exhibition.
