Theatre Collection The greenroom Archive
Established in 1983 to develop and present local, national and international performance, greenroom
was situated in two converted Victorian railway arches beneath Oxford Road railway station until its closure in May 2011.
greenroom was Manchester’s centre for new extraordinary performance. Supporting artists by providing resources and a
safe space for the creation of new, experimental and contemporary performance, they presented new work created at greenroom
and also other new performance (including national and international work) to audiences in appropriate contexts. They also carried
out small participation projects with the wider community.

The greenroom physical archive is now held within the Live Art Archives of the University of Bristol Theatre Collection and is
