Theatre Collection The greenroom Archive

greenroom logo Established in 1983 to develop and present local, national and international performance, greenroom was situated in two converted Victorian railway arches beneath Oxford Road railway station until its closure in May 2011.

greenroom was Manchesterís centre for new extraordinary performance. Supporting artists by providing resources and a safe space for the creation of new, experimental and contemporary performance, they presented new work created at greenroom and also other new performance (including national and international work) to audiences in appropriate contexts. They also carried out small participation projects with the wider community.

Further information on the history and legacy of greenroom and the artists and others associated with it can be found on the greenroomutd website.

The greenroom physical archive is now held in the Live Art Archives of the University of Bristol Theatre Collection and is currently in the process of being sorted and re-boxed. Lists of the archive material are available.
