The Theatre Collection is proud to announce that in May 2009 it was awarded Accredited status by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.
Gaining the award is a great achievement and demonstrates that our museum has met the MLA's nationally agreed standards on how to care for and document collections, how to govern and manage the museum and the provision of information and services to users.

Ghost Train 1926 flyer Arnold Ridley archive available online

The personal archive of Arnold Ridley OBE (1896-1984) can be searched via the Theatre Collection's online catalogue.
Achieving fame as author of The Ghost Train and Private Godfrey in Dad's Army, the collection reveals Ridley's career as both successful actor and playwright.

W C Macready as Wallace Bristol's Theatrical Heritage Online

A collection of letters written to members of the Macready/Chute family, who managed the Bristol Theatre Royal, the New Theatre Royal in Park Row (later renamed the Prince's Theatre) and the Bath Theatre Royal, have been catalogued and digitised.
The letters, which cover the period 1797 to 1937, can now be viewed via the online catalogue.

A catalogue of the lifetime's work of one of the most celebrated theatre, television, ballet and opera designers of the second half of the twentieth century is now available online, with over 150 digital images available for viewing and free educational use.
