Copying Service and Picture Library
The University of Bristol Theatre Collection is able to provide photocopies and scans of items in the collection, at the prices below:
(Please note that some items may be deemed too fragile to photocopy or scan and the Theatre
Collection reserves the right to make this judgement.)
Search & Scan Reproduction Fees
Private or Educational use
- £5.00 (max. A3) per image.
Please state required dpi when ordering.
Photocopying Reproduction Fees
Black and white photocopies are available at the following rate:
A4 @ £0.20 each
A3 @ £0.40 each
Please note, we are unable to supply colour photocopies.
Copies made must be for research use only and may not be used for reproduction or commercial purposes, without the prior agreement and acknowledgement of the copyright holder(s) and the University of Bristol Theatre Collection. You will be asked to complete a form to agree with these conditions.
For photocopies requested by post there is a minimum £2.50 charge to cover administration costs, postage costs (within the UK), and up to 5 copies. Additional copies are charged at the standard rate.
Photography (no flash) is allowed at the discretion of the staff. Photographs taken must be for
personal research use only and may not be used for reproduction or commercial purposes
without the prior agreement and acknowledgement of the copyright holder(s) and the
University of Bristol Theatre Collection. You will be asked to complete a form to
agree with these conditions.
Audio Visual Material
PLEASE NOTE - Moving Image material will only be supplied if ALL relevant copyright clearances
and consents have already been obtained, and evidence of this is provided in writing to the
Material will be charged at the rate of £25 per hour's copying time for personal/research use,
and £50 hour's copying time for commercial use. A minimum one hour charge applies.
Commercial Rights Fees
Please note all our commercial rights fees (and copies for this purpose) are negotiated through
ArenaPAL who are our agents in these matters.

The University of Bristol Theatre Collection does not hold copyright for all of its holdings and therefore it is the responsibility of the researcher to ensure that copyright is cleared, prior to any material being published. The University of Bristol takes no responsibility for copyright concerning third parties.
