Much of our work is focused on improving patients’ outcomes after hip and knee replacement, particularly for patients who experience adverse events or outcomes such as joint infection or chronic pain. 

We use evidence synthesis in a range of ways, including to investigate the epidemiology and risk factors for adverse events after orthopedic surgery, further our understanding of surgical innovation, evaluate the clinical and cost-effectiveness of treatments, and inform the design of interventions for evaluation in clinical trials.

Methodological expertise in our group includes systematic reviews, meta-analysis, analysis of individual patient data, and network-meta-analysis.
