Strategic Transport Group Terms of Reference

  1. Approve and revise a University Transport Plan covering all locations, staff and students.
  2. To provide strategic input on key issues actually or potentially impacting on the ability of the Transport Plan or management of movements and safety in the precinct to support effectively the delivery of the University’s objectives, such as car parking policy and bus service enhancements.
  3. Advise the Bursar and other relevant departments on key issues actually or potentially impacting on the ability of the Transport Plan or management of movements and safety in the precinct to support effectively the delivery of the University’s objectives, such as car parking policy and bus service enhancements.
  4. Advise UPARC on matters of transport policy, including what action, if any should be taken to further develop the aims of the University Transport Plan.
  5. Formulate as required new plans, policies and strategies in support of the University’s Transport Plan.
  6. Review the impact of existing individual initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
  7. Regularly review the University’s Transport Plan and its impact using, but not exclusively limited to, biennial student and staff travel survey data.
  8. Progress strategic issues identified or affecting delivery of the Transport Plan.
  9. Consult as required with the Consultative Transport Group on key strategic issues and recommendations.
  10. Ensure adequate communication strategies are in place to communicate decisions made by the STG or UPARC.

Consultative Transport Terms of Reference

  1. Advise, counsel and warn the STG on key strategic issues actually or potentially impacting on the ability of the Transport Plan or management of movements and safety in the precinct to support effectively the delivery of the University’s objectives, such as car parking policy and student bus enhancements.
  2. Advise the STG on non-strategic issues impacting on delivery of the University’s Transport Plan or management of movements and safety in the precinct.
  3. Advise as required on the formulation of new plans, policies and strategies in support of the University’s Transport Plan.
  4. Progress strategic and non-strategic issues for consideration by the STG.
  5. Advise on car parking issues and determine appeals where not covered by precedent.
