The University campus is well-served by bus services. There are buses from the University campus to the city centre, Bristol Temple Meads train station, Stoke Bishop Halls of Residence and other popular areas you are likely to want to travel to and from.
Undergraduate students and Senior Residents living in University allocated accommodation will receive a Wessex Red bus pass. Those entitled to these passes will be able to travel free of charge on all Wessex Red services. All other students, staff and members of the public can purchase bus passes from the Hawthorns Reception (Elton Road, BS8 1UQ), or buy tickets on board the bus. Buses Direct to the Main Campus (The Precinct)
The Wessex Red no. 16 bus service runs from the University Precinct, up through Whiteladies Road to the Stoke Bishop halls of residence 7 days a week, all day and into the evening. It also runs into the city centre in the off peak periods.
The Wessex Red no. 19 bus service runs from the UWE Frenchay Campus down Filton Avenue, down Gloucester Road, past Redland Station, into the University Precinct, and into Bristol City Centre. The service runs, all day and into the evening Monday through to Saturday.
The 8 and 9 services from Bristol Temple Meads train station run every 10 minutes in peak time and stop on the University campus. The number 8 stops by The Berkeley pub on Queen's Road opposite the Wills Memorial Building before heading towards the Students' Union, while the number 9 continues from The Berkeley pub up towards Tyndall Avenue. The journey should take about 20-30 minutes
Buses a Short Walk from the Main Campus (The Precinct)
The Wessex Red no. 15 bus service runs from the UWE Frenchay Campus down Filton Avenue, across Wellington Hill Hill, down Henleaze Road, down Whiteladies Road, into the Triangle (a short walk from the Precinct), and into Bristol City Centre. The service runs, all day and into the evening Monday through to Saturday.
The 1,40,40A, 41,54,54A,462,624,and X14 services all stop in the Park Street / Triangle / Whiteladies Road area a couple of minutes’ walk from the University.
