Meningitis alert

There have been three confirmed or probable cases of bacterial meningitis at the University since mid-November.

The University has worked closely with the Health Protection Agency (HPA) to help minimise any risk to others. This has included contacting people who have had close domestic or physical contact with the students concerned and administering antibiotics in an effort to prevent the disease spreading further.

Students and members of staff at the University have received information and advice about meningitis as appropriate.

The University is operating as normal and there is no increased risk to the general public or visitors to the University.
