The Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the University and as such has ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the University by ensuring that it is solvent, well-run and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it was established.

The primary responsibilities of the Board of Trustees are set out in its Statement of Primary Responsibilities (PDF, 78kB) and were approved by the Board of Trustees at its meeting on 2 October 2015.

Committees to the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is supported by various committees, details of which can be found on the University's Committee structure (PDF, 198kB) chart.

A key part of the University's Vision and Strategy is to ensure that decision-making processes work across the University in a transparent, consultative and collaborative way and with appropriate delegation and empowerment. We promote open, informed and constructive debate in the Board of Trustees and the Board of Trustees' committees. Through our long-term commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity, we seek to ensure that the Board of Trustees and its committees comprise a diverse, representative, informed and engaged membership.
