University governance

• Court
  Court serves as a bridge between the wider community and the University and provides a source of ideas, influence and support from the wider community to assist the University in pursuit of its mission.
• Board of Trustees
  The Board of Trustees is the University's supreme governing body and board of charity trustees. It operates within the framework provided by the Charter and Statutes and the legal and regulatory framework to which the University is subject.
• Senate
  Senate oversees teaching and research at the University and makes academic regulations.

• Chancellor
  The Chancellor of the University is elected by Court on the nomination of the Board of Trustees. They are the ceremonial head of the University and serve as its most senior public face.

• Pro-Chancellors
  The Pro-Chancellors of the University are elected by Court on the nomination of the Board of Trustees. They act as deputy to the Chancellor and may exercise the functions of the Chancellor (except for the conferring of degrees) in their absence.
