Professor Andrew Dowsey

My research concerns the combination of bioinformatics and biostatistics approaches to integrate disparate data sources for medical and veterinary research. We are experienced with handling modalities including quantitative omics data (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics), medical images (MRI, CT, PET, Ultrasound) and pervasive sensing/biosensing data, together with clinical metadata. I also lead a research programme focussed on new computational methodology for biological mass spectrometry. We are building statistical methodology that operates from sensor readings to biological processes, together with approaches for visualisation and quality control of the raw data and results.
