Small commercial red meat abattoir with low throughput, catering for slaughter of sheep, goats, cattle and pigs. Any fluid or tissue sample can be collected from a series or from random animals. It is usually possible to collect data about the source farms and there is potential to package and follow meat to consumers. Some tissues require release forms or owner consent.
Animals can be slaughtered solely for experimental purposes and post mortem procedures performed. The abattoir can be adapted to enable any type of handling (e.g. line speed). If animals are suitable to enter the food chain, the abattoir can assist in finding an outlet.
