Welcome to the Langford Abattoir where welfare, quality and education are at the heart of everything we do.
Constructed in 1968 as an integral part of the Meat Research Institute, the Abattoir has gone on to become a major teaching resource to students from the Universities of Bristol and Cambridge as well the Royal Veterinary College, and has become an asset to customers looking for professional slaughter and butchery services in the South West.
Whether you are a new visitor to the site, or an existing customer, Abattoir Manager Stephen Toth and his team are on hand to discuss your requirements.
We work with some of the world's top researchers in animal welfare to see to the well-being of your animals and ensure best practice at all times.
Our professional team follow approved slaughter and butchery processes to provide a quality service and a quality product.
To make sure our future vets and other animal professionals have the best education we make sure we are up-to-date with the latest techniques and processes in slaughter and butchery.
There has been an Abattoir at Langford since the sixties. In fact we are the only Veterinary School to have one.
